Symptoms of syringomyelia include muscle weakness and wasting, stiffness in your back, shoulders, arms and legs, pain in your neck, arms and back, and loss of sensitivity to pain and temperature. If the patient can notice the symptoms in the early stage, and there is no obvious signs of deterioration, most of the patients can be treated through medication and tracking. If the patient need to undergo surgery, just deal with it early and follow up regularly, most of them can recover well. Therefore, syringomyelia is not an incurable disease
However, if the patient already have muscle weakness and atrophy, even affect the urinary function, different degrees of nerve damage will still remain after surgery.
